Rules & Regulations

In order to participate in lessons/ pony groups/ programs at Littleriver Equestrian you are required to agree to the below policies and procedures regarding cancellations, safety and missed lessons so please take the time to read these points carefully.

By booking with us you are agreeing to the following.

  • Payment for lessons must be made before or at your lesson. 

  • Payment for holiday programs/camps must be made before or on invoice due date. 

  • Rider weight limit of 80kg

  • You are not allowed on a horse in any circumstances without a helmet on your head and done up properly.

  • Please do not feed horses without asking.

  • Lessons/programs will NOT be extended if you are late no matter what the circumstance as our instructors are booked on the hour, every hour or half hour.

  • If you do not turn up for a lesson/program and you have not contacted us you are liable for the fee.

  • Payments for pony groups will not be refunded if you have already attended one or more sessions.

  • No disrespectful behaviour to others or our staff members.

  • Closed shoes must be worn when on or around the horses.

  • By booking you are giving permission for photos to be taken and used on social media platforms.

  • No smoking on the property.

  • Do not enter any enclosed paddock/yard unless requested, directed or supervised by an employee or instructor.

  • Children who are not participants will not be left unsupervised.

  • No dogs allowed onsite (out of vehicle) without permission

  • No shouting or running about on the yard.

  • Just as if you had your own pony, lessons will take place in all weathers - if it's too wet to ride we will focus on horsemastership skills.

  • Cancellation policy: If you do not turn up for a booked lesson and do not notify us you are still liable for the full lesson fee. If you cancel within 12 hours of your lesson it will still be charged if we can't fill that spot, as we still have to pay our coaches.  

  • Please no talking/giving advice to riders while they are being coached.

  • You must not enter the arena whilst a lesson/activity is in progress unless directed.

  • The house and grass area around the house is our private residence please stay off/away from this area.

  • Whilst watching a lesson/activity please keep noise to a minimum. 

  • Driving on the driveway is strictly SLOW 5km.

  • Drinking alcohol and riding is strictly prohibited. 

  • When riding a horse or pony, it is inevitable that you will dismount against your will at some point – i.e. fall off. We are confident that the horses and ponies that we select for you are suitable for your level but we cannot guarantee your safety as you are paired with a live animal. Riding is a wonderful and exhilarating sport but it is not without its’ dangers. Please be aware of this prior to signing yourself or your child up for lessons.
