Pony group
Pony group is where riders learn in a small group environment about caring for the horses, how horses think, learn and communicate, catching, gearing up, lunging, floating, riding and more!
We believe in creating kind riders with a well rounded education and solid foundations that last a lifetime. Riders get individual attention in small groups on kind school horses
Our riders work towards certificates and at the end of each year we get our groups together for a show/prize giving with ribbons and loads of fun.
They also have the option to join New Zealand pony club which is a nationally recognized organization with certificates they can achieve.
Riders get access to our second hand rack, library and volunteer opportunities and are able to take part in in-house events and shows.
We will move riders to the pony group that suits as necessary.

Arriving for pony group:
Riders please wear long pants (saddles can pinch bare skin if you wear shorts)
Closed shoes must be worn when around the horses and riding.
Remember no running or shouting around the ponies, they are animals and can get frights if we run around them.
Since you are riding every week there may come a point that you want to purchase your own riding gear.
The first thing we suggest buying is a helmet! Buy new and go try some on as each brand and type fits different heads. Here are two of the closest places we suggest going too.
Saddlery warehouse in Plimmerton
Clareville saddlery in Wairarapa
The next buy we suggest is Jodhpurs boots. Whether that's new or second hand, they are made for safety and comfort when riding.
